CERTIFICATE OF DOMESTIC PARTNERSHIP IN MADRID

Definition of Domestic Partnership:

The Domestic Partnership is an affective union of two individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation, who live together in a stable manner, in an affective relationship analogous to the conjugal one, similar and registered in the Public Registry and necessarily entails the effective cohabitation as a couple, that is to say, to live together as a couple in a common dwelling.

Domestic Partnership Registration Requirements

  1. The following persons may register in the Registry: Appointment in person at 34, Los Madrazos Street, Madrid.
  2. Payment of the fee, 82,12€, to be paid on the day of registration, not on the day of the appointment request.
  3. Age of majority or emancipated minors.
  4. Proof of cohabitation in common (registration in common, notarial affidavits of friends, relatives).
  5. Cohabitation Period 12 months uninterrupted.
  6. One of the two members at least registered in a municipality of Madrid.
  7. Marital status must be one of the following: Single, widowed, divorced or judicially separated. The common-law marriage must not be registered in the Registry of another Autonomous Community.
  8. In case of registration in another Autonomous Community with the same partner, cancel the registration, although it is not necessary to wait the twelve months.
  9. If it is with a different partner, you must cancel and wait the twelve months to register in the Madrid Community Registry.

How to request an appointment for registration

Completion of the form “Request for appointment for registration in the Registry of Domestic Partnerships of the Community of Madrid” and submit it with all the required documentation (minus the proof of the fee paid that will be presented on the day of registration) at the Registry Assistance Offices or at any of the places established in Article 16.4 of Law 39/2015 of October 1 of the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations, or by Internet (See how to process) through the “Management” section.

To submit the application and documentation online, through the electronic registry of the Regional Ministry, it is necessary to have an electronic ID card or one of the electronic certificates recognized by the Community of Madrid.

What do you need to submit?

A. DOCUMENTATION

The required documentation (original and photocopy requested) is as follows:

1. NIF or NIE, Passport (complete) or Residence Card in force of the applicants and two witnesses(family or friends over 18 years old). Witnesses may present a copy and on the day of registration bring the original.
2. Certification of the municipal census issued by the Town Hall where they reside. Flyers will not be accepted.
3. Proof of emancipation, in the case of minors.

B. RATE

It is necessary to bring paid fee form 030. The paid fee is delivered on the day of theregistration appointment.

The payment of the fee shall be made by self-assessment, prior to the date of registration in one of the collaborating deposit entities of the Community of Madrid, and it is recommended that it be made between 2 and 7 days prior to the day of registration.

The cost of the registration fee is 82,12 €.

To obtain certificates through electronic payment of fees and in-person collection, you must go to the Registry of Unions of De Facto 48 hours after the telematic payment, since until then we can not check the income in our system.

REGISTRATION OF FOREIGN DOMESTIC PARTNERS IN MADRID ON THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT

The two members of the unmarried couple must come with 2 witnesses and declare under oath that they have been living together for 12 months without interruption in an affective relationship, all must come with their identity documents, original and photocopy.

APPLICATION FOR DOMESTIC PARTNERSHIP CERTIFICATE

Any member of the domestic partnership may apply.

You can apply online for the Domestic Partnership certificate, with electronic signature.

Payment of the fee of 12,24€, prior to the application and accredit with the application the payment of the fee.

It can be requested by any member of the Domestic Partnership, upon payment of the fee form 030 and providing proof of payment of the fee.

You can submit your application at any of the Registry Assistance Offices of the Community of Madrid, of the General State Administration, of other Autonomous Communities, of City Councils of the Community of Madrid belonging to the Network of Integrated Citizen Service Offices, Post Offices and Diplomatic Representations or Spanish Consular Offices abroad.

You can also request a certificate by going to the Registry without an appointment and justifying the urgency of the request.
